On Saturday June 9th more than 1000 people demonstrated against the party meeting of far-right AfD in Nuremberg. Several different groups rallied around the city-owned Meistersingerhalle. The party meeting comes just after the latest media scandal around AfD-leader Gauland as he stated the times of the cruel national-socialists’ reign and murder of millions of people by those are just a ‘bird-shit’ in thousands of years of German history. After early morning protest against the meeting of the far-right party members a memorial was held as June 9th also marked the 13th anniversary of murdered Ismail Yasar that was killed by so called ‘NSU’ neo-nazi terror group. Protest was very peaceful – just several police officers of a riot police unit seemed to search trouble and provoked an escalation as they pushed into the memorial demonstration batting protesters leaving several wounded to then later arrest two activists.
