Several thousand joined protest against this year’s federal party meeting of far-right AfD. Statements of the last-year into parliament elected openly racist party have sparked outrages and drew protestors to the streets. Social initiatives, the democratic parties as well as youth initiatives called for action against the meeting in the southern German town of Bavaria. In parts more than 5000 people roamed the streets of old-town Augsburg following a demonstration to the city center. Vice president of the Bundestag Claudia Roth and other politicians spoke at the final rally. Tension rose, when the mayor of the town stepped on stage. Activists threw eggs and fruit at the politician who’s party has been demanding ‘consequent deportations’.
